It is designed to be a single cutting tool for multiple cutting applications. The tool's blade is composed of two cutting edges, a standard beveled cutting edge for standard and a multiple application cutting edge.
The multiple application cutting edge is designed for cutting a diverse range of materials, substances, and objects. Its technology comprises a multi-angle, multi-level / multi-plane, jagged, irregular, heat treated 440C carbon steel cutting edge that zigzags and jags the length of the blade both within and beyond the blade plane. With this configuration, the edge is capable of attacking the work piece at multiple angles, levels, and planes, facilitating better penetration and more complete cutting. This configuration also increases the edge's piercing power with its less-metal-up-front feature. This feature concentrates applied pressure at the points of contact with the work piece, producing more pounds-per-square-inch of applied cutting force to the object during cutting, while reducing resistance and effort. The multiple attack angles, levels, and planes of the edge also reduce the workload at each of the contact points with the work piece, further reducing the resistance and effort required to cut. This type of cutting edge design also allows for cutting in both directions.
